Scandic Parken opened its doors in 1981, and for a long time we have been the largest conference hotel in the region.
With 15 conference rooms, several restaurant spaces and 197 rooms, we recieve thousands of guests annually.
We are a child friendly hotel, and welcome four-legged friends!
We cater to all needs, and will do our best to make your stay amazing.

Ålesund is a city like no other in Norway. It is famous for its architecture and the towering mountains that surround it.
The city center is not the largest, but it makes up for it with unforgettable experiences for both locals and tourists alike.
Scandic Parken lies in the heart of the city, offering our guests short walking distances to famous Brosundet and Aksla.
Small shops and cafès are sprinkled throughout the streets, and a spectacular view is never far away.
Family-friendly activities like Atlanterhavsparken aquarium is only a bus ride away, and Bybadet is only a couple of minutes walk away from the hotel.
We offer hotel packages to both Bybadet and Atlanterhavsparken.

Sven Erik Moe
Administrerende direktør
Our general manager Sven Erik Moe has guided the hotel with a steady hand for over 18 years.
Focused on building effecient teams, he values customer service above all.
With a background from hotels in Oslo, Bodø, Svalbard and Switzerland, he had his humble start as a doorman at Grand Hotel Oslo.
You will often find him out in the hotels common areas, greeting guests and making sure everything is up to our high standards.
A man of many trades, Sven Erik speaks at least 5 languages (we have lost count), and enjoys hiking the mountains surrounding Ålesund.

Scandic Parken is located by the foot of Aksla mountain, in Storgata 16.
The tall building is easily spotted, and most locals know us well.
The airport Vigra is 18 km away.
To get to us from there you can take a shuttle, taxi or rent a car.
During the summer of 2023 the shuttle stops right outside the hotel. If you choose to go by car there is a parking garage beneath the hotel. The fee to park there is 25 NOK/hour, maximum 250 NOK/ night,
Enter the cars registration number into the orange machine and pay before you drive out.
On the lowest level of the parking garage there are four charging stations for electrical vehicals. Please note that you need to bring your own adapter and cable.

Can I bring my dog?
Yes, you can!
Please let us know ahead of arrival so that we may allocate one of the dog-friendly rooms to you. There is a fee of 200NOK/ night.
Can I arrive late?
Of course!
If you are arriving later than 6 pm, we kindly ask that you give us a heads up and we will make sure your room is ready.
Food at Scandic Parken
As a hotel widely known for its high quality food, we offer a great selection of meals.
Our breakfast was once again awarded the best in the county by Twinings in 2022.
For conference lunches we can offer a multi-course, or a large buffet, depending on the number of guests.
If you wish to experience quality food in an amazing atmosphere, we highly reccomend to check out Polarbjørn, located on our top floor.
